Four Months Later

Four months apart had left an ache in both of us.

The moment I saw her again, standing there with that familiar smile, the distance vanished. It felt as if the countless lonely nights, the missed conversations, and the longing had all led to this single moment.

We drove to Nagarkot, escaping the city and everything that had kept us apart. The mountain air was cool, but neither of us noticed. We were too busy stealing glances at each other, laughing at things that weren’t even funny, and enjoying the simple luxury of finally being together.

As evening settled over the hills, we shared drinks and stories. The conversation flowed effortlessly. Every touch lingered a little longer than it normally would. Every smile carried months of longing behind it.

The chemistry between us was impossible to ignore.

The space between us gradually disappeared. We found ourselves drawn together, sharing kisses that felt both familiar and entirely new. Four months of separation had built a hunger for closeness that neither of us wanted to resist. The outside world faded away until all that remained was her and me.

Later, wrapped in each other’s arms, we lay quietly together. Her head rested against my chest while I traced small circles on her shoulder. There was something deeply comforting about feeling her warmth against me again. No messages, no phone calls, no distance—just us.

That night we slept tangled together, unwilling to let even a few inches separate our bodies. Every time I woke up, I could feel her beside me, and each time it made me smile.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains and landed softly on her face.

I woke before she did and simply watched.

Her hair was scattered across the pillow. Her breathing was slow and peaceful. The golden morning light seemed to belong to her alone, illuminating every delicate feature. She looked effortlessly beautiful, the kind of beauty that no photograph could ever capture.

For a moment, I forgot about everything else.

The mountains outside, the sunrise, the world waiting beyond our room—none of it mattered.

All I could think was how lucky I was to be there beside her after four long months apart.

And as she slowly opened her eyes and smiled at me, I knew that some moments stay with you forever.
